Anyone who’s paid a visit to Eustis’ beloved Ferran Park will notice some changes going on.
Phase Two of the Ferran Park Master Plan has been in progress for the latter part of 2015. Improvements include landscaping, beautification to the park’s entrances, a new LED monument sign, and wider, better connected sidewalks for a more pedestrian-friendly experience.
This month, construction begins on the new splash pad, expected to open in May. In addition, the city will solicit requests for proposals in either March or April for a farmer’s market vendor and a watercraft vendor for the park.
“We have two really big city docks and we want to increase their usage,” said Miranda Burrowes, public information officer for the city. “The vendor would have access to four slips and be able to rent kayaks, paddleboards, and even small johnboats.”
