The Sharon hosts Fernando & Friends Puerto Rico Relief Concert

A night of great entertainment in The Villages also will be felt in Puerto Rico.

Singer Fernando Varela will host a very personal fundraising event, the Fernando & Friends Puerto Rico Relief Concert, Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, 1051 Main St. in Spanish Springs Town Square. Showtimes are at 4pm and 7:30pm.

Fernando, a native of San Juan who resides in Orlando, has gathered some of his closest friends to create the benefit shows for those in Puerto Rico affected by recent destructive hurricanes. All proceeds will go to relief funds in Puerto Rico to help the citizens and communities rebuild, according to The Sharon’s website.

Fernando, an operatic and classical crossover tenor, can sing in a number of different styles, from opera to jazz to rock to hip-hop. The shows promise to provide a night of inspiration and compassion as music performers and fans join together as a community to aid Puerto Rico.

Tickets cost $30-$75 and can be purchased at thesharon.com.
