Tavares hosts Halloween Street Party Friday night

Boo! A family-fun Halloween Street Party comes to downtown Tavares on Friday night, starting at 6 p.m., thanks to Tavares’ businesses and community organizations.

Wear your Halloween costume, enjoy free candy, and savor Halloween treats of pretzels, hot dogs, chips, fruit cups, shakes, donuts, boiled peanuts, subs, empanadas, candy apples, cookies, brownies, and more.

Carnival games and prizes are planned, too, along with a kid’s costume contest, and hayrides with spooky storytelling. The event will also feature a movie on Main Street, a Monster House, a giant inflatable corn maze to go through, and a creepy tent to find scary things.

Other attractions:

  • Zombie Zumba
  • Dancing by Dance Depot & Starbound Performers
  • Scarecrow contest
  • DJ dance party
  • Photo opportunities with festive cut-outs

Things to do:

  • On Ruby Street there will be a classic car show with DJ
  • Give a pint of blood (if you’re feeling generous or vimpiry)
  • Visit the unique photo booth vintage VW Bus
  • Spin to win a tasty Jelly Belly or get Bean-Boozled
  • Dance to Orlando’s popular dance band, Blonde Ambition

Free parking is available at the Lake County parking garage on Main Street. For more information about the event, call Debby at 352-742-6319, or Scott at 352-742-6477.
