Occupation: Office manager/controller at Pike’s Electric, Inc.
Love of your profession: Electric is a large part of any new home. I enjoy making customers’ dreams come true. Working in a trade is so rewarding; you have a service that will always be needed.
Greatest career accomplishment: Bringing the Florida Electrical Association (FEA) apprenticeship program to Pike’s. Seeing our employees excel in the program and bring themselves to the point of being licensed electricians is so fulfilling for me.
Working in a family business: My parents started Pike’s Electric and it has been such a big part of our lives. I admire my parents’ leadership and their hard work and how that made Pike’s an amazing company. Our employees are a big part of our family and that’s the way I always want it to be. I couldn’t wait to be part of the business.
Advice for aspiring electricians: Find a good mentor; someone to teach you all aspects of the business. Learn all sides of the business—commercial, residential, service, and the administrative aspects. Then decide what you enjoy the most.
Hidden talent: I am surprisingly good at hunting with my bow. I love the thrill of it.
Desired superpower: Juggling motherhood and work can be overwhelming sometimes. I would love to be able to be in a couple places at once.
Guilty pleasure: Shopping.
Philosophy of life: “It is a privilege to do what God has entrusted me to do.”
