Public invited to tour supervisor of elections office

The Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office is hosting an open house and tour of its new facility. The event is scheduled from 10am-6pm Thursday Jan. 17 at 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd. (U.S. Highway 441), Tavares. Office tours will be hosted by staff members of each department, and light refreshments will be served, a news release states.

“We would like everyone to come and see our new facility,” Elections Supervisor Alan Hays says. “We appreciate the citizens of Lake County and we welcome them to take advantage of this opportunity to see our operation and learn more about the elections process.”

The elections office relocated in 2018 from the County Administration Building in downtown Tavares to a building located diagonally across Burleigh Boulevard from AdventHealth Waterman, formerly known as Florida Hospital Waterman.

The new spot consolidates the various operations of the elections office into one convenient location, and provides easier access for voters, candidates, and anyone else in need of the services.
