Don’t forget to set aside some “Rent” money this month.

The producers of the “Rent” 20th Anniversary Tour announced Wednesday that single tickets are on sale for the 7pm April 18-19 performances at the Sharon, 1051 Main St., in The Villages. Tickets priced from $45-$100 are available at all Villages box offices, online at thesharon.com, or by calling 352.751.7799.

Composer Jonathan Larson’s “Rent” is a Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning re-imagining of Puccini’s “La Bohème.” The show received its world premiere off-Broadway Feb. 13, 1996, at New York Theatre Workshop to ecstatic reviews and transferred to Broadway on April 29, 1996, a news release states.

“Rent” follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.

Based on the original direction by Michael Greif, Evan Ensign will restage this 20th anniversary tour and Marlies Yearby will serve as choreographer, the release states. The tour is produced by Work Light Productions, whose other touring productions include Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” “Something Rotten!” and the upcoming tour of the 2016 Olivier Award-winning production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center seats just more than 1,000 guests in a multi-level theater offering state-of-the-art audio, visual, and theatrical rigging systems to create an entertainment experience second to none. For more information, visit thesharon.com.
