The Lake-Sumter State College Foundation, Inc. has received a $20,000 gift from Ernie Morris Enterprises, Inc. (EMEI) to support students at Lake-Sumter State College.

“We are appreciative of the continued support from Ernie Morris Enterprises for student scholarships and academic programs at Lake-Sumter State College,” Dr. Laura Byrd, vice president of Institutional Advancement and  executive director of LSSC Foundation, says in a news release. “The generosity of our donors, including long-time donors like Ernie Morris Enterprises, enables us to support the college’s mission of student success.”

Alise Morris, Business Development Manager at EMEI, visited campus to present the check on behalf of the company.

“EMEI was blessed with an exceptional year and we are humbled to share our resources with Lake-Sumter State College and our community,” says Tim Morris, vice president at EMEI. “Preparing a student for life’s journey is vital for their personal success.  LSSC has continued to raise the bar for student success.”

In 2020, the LSSC Foundation has already awarded over $700,000 in scholarships to Lake-Sumter State College students – an all-time record as students cope with the economic impacts of the global pandemic.
