Let the holiday festivities begin! Save the date for Clermont’s annual Light Up Clermont, which will take place the weekend of Dec. 6-7, going from 5:30-9pm Friday and 10am-2pm Saturday, followed by free concerts at 5pm and 8pm at the Clermont Performing Arts Center, 3700 S. Highway 27.

“Light Up Clermont is one of our biggest annual events,” City Manager Darren Gray says in a news release. “We’re excited for families and friends to gather and make holiday memories together.”

Bring the whole family to the free event, which will feature the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony led by Mayor Gail Ash at 6:30pm Dec. 6. The festivities on Dec. 7 will begin at 10am with the Hometown Holiday Parade.

Friday night’s festivities will include a live band playing holiday music on the main stage, a DJ and dancing at the community stage, Santa’s Little Flipper’s performance, bounce houses, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus provided by Kiwanis Club of South Lake, and family food trucks. Stick around after Friday’s parade to enjoy crafts, music, food and community entertainment.

To wrap up the weekend, the free Lessons and Carols concert by Montverde Academy will be at 5pm and 8pm at Clermont Performing Arts Center. For information, call 352.708.5975.
