Leesburg names Brad Chase as new director of electric utility

The city of Leesburg has a new Leesburg Electric director: Brad Chase, whose first day with the city will be Aug. 5.

With significant experience in the Florida municipal electric industry, Brad’s background is expected to complement Leesburg Electric, a news release states. For more than 33 years, Brad served in several different capacities at the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), ending his service in the senior management position of director of distribution engineering/electric & water.

He also has worked directly with the All-Requirements Project of the Florida Municipal Power Agency. All-Requirements is FMPA’s largest power supply project, serving the power needs of 13 cities. All-Requirements members are owners of an efficient statewide power network, according to the FMPA website.

Brad is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in engineering.

Leesburg has more than 23,000 residents, and the city government serves twice as many people with its electric, gas, water, and wastewater public utilities. For more information, visit leesburgflorida.gov.
