Leesburg CDC asks citizens to display unity in ‘Love Walk’

At a time when the darker forces of human nature often dominate national headlines, one organization is trying to do something positive for local community relations.

The Community Development Corporation of Leesburg Inc. is calling all citizens to a “Love Walk,” a citywide multicultural campaign to display a love for everyone.

The CDC is asking people to meet at 6pm Tuesday, Aug. 29, and walk from the corner of Pine Street and Canal Street to Leesburg City Hall as a united front against hatred and divisiveness.

“In light of what is happening in our country, let us come together in love, prayer, and fellowship to lift up our city,” a CDC news release states.

Pastors and churches, governmental leaders, community leaders, and city residents are encouraged to join together in support of this event, which will include music, entertainment, and food.
