LakeXpress wants public input on 10-year transit plan

Imagine it’s 2028, and you find yourself behind the wheel of a large bus. And you may ask yourself, “How did I get here?” “What does this bus look like?” “Where does that highway go to?”

Because the area will not remain the same as it ever was, LakeXpress, Lake County’s public transit service, is planning for the future. LakeXpress is seeking public input about transit growth and improvements over the next decade, a news release states.

Lake County is in the process of updating its 10-year Transit Development Plan, which will serve as a guide for public transportation from 2019-2028.

As a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the development of the plan, residents are encouraged to respond to a survey about transit services at

The survey and in-person interviews are two ways that riders can offer input and feedback on public transit needs in the community.

LakeXpress is a fixed-route system that provides public transit service throughout Lake County on a regular schedule at designated bus stops.
