Students don’t need legendary rocker Alice Cooper to remind them that school’s out for summer.
It’s a different story for administrators, however. They’re already planning ahead for the 2019-2020 school year to ensure schools have enough teachers by the time students return in August.
That’s one reason why Lake County School’s is hosting a teacher hiring event on June 13 at Leesburg High School, 1401 Yellow Jacket Way. It will last from 9 a.m. to noon.
According from a press release from Lake County Schools, potential teachers and other professionals will have an opportunity to learn about each school and network with school officials over coffee before deciding to interview.
The district hopes to hire guidance counselors, speech-language pathologists, teachers of the visually impaired, and educators certified in math, science, language arts, special education, and elementary education.
Prospective teachers should bring a resume, as well as pen and paper to take notes.
Advance registration is recommended. You can sign up at www.lake.k12.fl.us/jobfair.
