Future connectivity in Lake County can be summed up in one word: trails.
A presentation entitled, “Meet Me in the Middle: How Trails Can Bring Lake County Together,” is scheduled from 5:30-7pm Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Magnolia Room at Lake-Sumter State College, 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg, according to a news release. The event is sponsored by the Chamber Alliance of Lake County, the Lake 100 and Lake County League of Cities.
The seminar will educate the public about the trails efforts across Lake County as well as information on a joint advocacy effort and next steps. This economic development initiative will create a model for local governments, businesses and citizens working together on a connected trails system in Lake County.
Featured speakers include Clermont City Manager Darren Gray on South Lake trails plans; Michael Woods, of the Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization, on North Lake trails plans; and Lake County Commissioners Leslie Campione and Tim Sullivan on advocacy effort opportunities.
Seating is limited. RSVP to Mandy Wettstein by Wednesday, Nov. 6, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 352.406.0422.
