Here’s your chance to be a star

Got talent?

Organizers of a fundraiser for a college scholarship fund are looking for “crazy fun people” who can sing, dance, perform comedy skits, or have any other act of no more than five minutes for a talent show. You don’t need to be a professional entertainer.

The Got Talent Fun’draiser is scheduled from 6-9pm Aug. 20 at Lake Miona Recreation Center, 1526 Buena Vista Blvd., The Villages.

The show benefits iSparkle, a college scholarship fund created by Villages entertainer Petrina.

Contact Rosemary Ahrens, iSparkle events coordinator, at to sign up and discuss ideas for performances either as a solo act or as a group.

iSparkle is an anti-bullying program, and the phrase stands for inclusion, support, protect, act, respect, kindness, lift spirits, and encourage.

Scholarship funds are awarded to high school student candidates who help create atmospheres of inclusion for their peers. For more information, go to
