A popular park in Groveland soon will be better than ever after a major improvement project. The city will host a groundbreaking ceremony from 6-6:30pm Monday, June 17, at Lake David Park, 450 S. Lake Ave., according to a news release.

Groveland’s Community Redevelopment Agency has allocated funds to update the north side of Lake David Park, the city’s website states. The area where the gazebo is located will be transformed into a Great Lawn with a stage amphitheater for performances. The new additions also will include a lake boardwalk, splash pad, and paved festival street.

Current amenities at Lake David Park include a basketball court, volleyball court, skate park, playground, picnic tables, boat ramp, and two docks. The lake and surrounding area also provide a great opportunity for birdwatching, the city’s website states.
