George Thorogood Concert benefits Sgt. Pam Kelly, U.S. Army vet

The U. S. Army was Sgt. Pam Kelly’s home until a training exercise went badly. A cable lifting a load to a helicopter snapped, dropping its load on her, leaving her a quadriplegic.

On Oct 17, a George Thorogood concert at The Sharon Performing Arts Center  in Spanish Springs will raise money for “A House Built with Love,” giving Pam a new, disability-adaptable home.

Villagers for Veterans is committed to supporting her with a place where she will be able to live independently and without help from others. The house is located in the historic district of Orange Blossom Gardens near Spanish Springs Town Square. This will give her the freedom to get to activities alone without need help from others. Fiercely independent, she’s looking forward to living in a place that meets her emotional as well as physical needs.

The organization is also looking for donations of time, materials, and experience to “make it happen” for Pam. V4V has reached the $150,000 mark and is on target for the getting the house done on time.

But, as you know, around any house, there is always something more that needs to be done.

Tickets for the concert on Wednesday, Oct 17, at 7:00 p.m. are available online at www.the-villages.tickets-center.com from the Villages Entertainment.
