Enjoy an eco-tour of Florida’s swamps, cattle fields, and orange groves aboard an open-air school bus that was converted into a monster truck. During the 60-minute ride, the bus takes visitors through a 2,500-acre cattle and citrus ranch, and at one point, they get to feed oranges to the cows. This roadside attraction is located at Showcase of Citrus in Clermont. After the ride, you can pick your own citrus.

Perhaps you’ve dreamed of being a bird, an astronaut, or an aviator. If you have a fascination with flying, then make a trip to Tavares, which is also known as America’s Seaplane City. Jones Brothers and Company offers seaplane rides of varying lengths and destinations — from a 12-minute ride over Lake Dora to a 70-minute ride over the St. Johns River and De Leon Springs. You will love the bird’s-eye view of the area’s beautiful waterways.

Explore the subtropical side of Florida by taking a boat ride with Captain Dave’s Dora Canal Cruises, which launches near Sinbad’s. Turtles sunbathing on half-submerged logs, great blue herons standing statue-like on the banks, and alligators quietly sinking beneath the water are just a few things you will see from the deck of Dave’s vessel, Sea Venture II. Best of all, towering cypress trees draped with Spanish moss provide an overhead shelter from the hot Florida sun.

referred to the Dora Canal as the
“most beautiful half-mile of water in the world.”
