Free passport photos offered to veterans, active-duty personnel in November

The Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is honoring U.S. military veterans and active-duty personnel during the month of November by offering free passport photos, a savings of $10.

“This is our second year providing free photos to military service members,” Gary Cooney, Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, says in a news release. “It is just a small token of appreciation that we can offer to show our gratitude, and to honor their service to our Country.”

Last year’s Veterans’ Appreciation event provided 115 free photos. To be eligible for the free photo, military personnel can present their DD-214, military identification, or have a veteran designation on their driver’s license.

Passports in Lake County are currently being processed by appointment only at the Lake County Courthouse, 550 W. Main St., North Wing on Third Floor in Tavares.
