The Florida Public Relations Association had their 2019 Mid Florida Local Image Awards in Ocala recently. Lake County Office of Communications received an Award of Distinction for Lake County’s 2018 State of the County video, “A Spirit of Service.”

The Office of Communications was also honored with an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award for the 2019 “Rescue Me’ charity calendar. Designed, created, and promoted by this group, led by Director Elisha Pappacoda, the calendar was so popular it sold out within weeks and raised $4,500 for the Lake County Animal Shelter.

The calendar featured Lake County firefighters cuddling shelter pets and definitely captured the hearts of residents.

“I am so proud of our team of public relations professionals for continuing to find innovative and efficient solutions to engage the public and promote the county’s many wonderful services,” Elisha says.

Because Lake County’s State of the County was presented in this engaging video format, it was well received. The video presented the wide range of accomplishments achieved during the year and highlighted the endeavors of the Board of County Commissions that included budget efficiencies, public safety improvements, economic development, and tourism initiatives.

The Lake County Office of Communications is in-house and is a full-service creative agency that promotes the Lake County brand on many platforms.
