The Harris Chain of Lakes continues to hook major fishing events.

Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) has selected the Harris Chain to host the second tournament of its 25th season, Feb. 20-23, 2020, in Leesburg. The schedule for the FLW, the world’s largest tournament fishing organization, includes seven regular-season tournaments showcasing the best anglers in the world competing at top bass fisheries at peak times, a news release states.

The FLW Tour has visited the Harris Chain of Lakes twice previously. The event will be hosted by Lake County, and complete details will be announced later this year.

“Lake County is excited to welcome back the Fishing League Worldwide Tour,” County Commissioner Tim Sullivan says in the release. “The abundant Harris Chain of Lakes, in particular, has increasingly become a destination for major fishing tournaments such as this one, which will bring the world’s top anglers to our great county. We wish them a successful event and encourage them to take some time to enjoy all that Lake County has to offer, and discover why we are ‘Real Florida. Real Close.’”

The FLW recently announced the full 2020 schedule during a banquet in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

“We are excited for the FLW Tour to return to the Harris Chain of Lakes in 2020,” Kathy Fennel, president of FLW operations, says in the release. “We’ve had great success holding multiple FLW tournaments in Leesburg, and we are proud to bring the FLW Tour back to Central Florida.”
