Villagers love a parade and they love holiday events, so The Villages’ annual Christmas Parade provides double the pleasure.
The event is scheduled from 10am-1pm Saturday, Dec. 14, at The Villages Polo Fields, 703 N. Buena Vista Blvd. The gates will open for spectators at 10am and the parade will begin at noon. This free event is open to the public and sponsored by the District Recreation & Parks Department, a news release states.
Have a great day by bringing your friends and family to enjoy all the fun and excitement the parade has to offer. Bring your own chairs or blankets and be prepared to walk into the polo complex as parking will be limited. Free shuttle service will be available beginning at 9:15am from Laurel Manor Recreation Center, 1985 Laurel Manor Drive, and Savannah Center, 1545 Buena Vista Blvd.
Visitors using golf cars are asked to cross over Buena Vista Boulevard via the roadway at the Southern Trace intersection rather than using the golf cart tunnel. Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be on location to monitor and assist with traffic control. All vehicles will enter the complex utilizing the north gates. Visitors are urged to use caution in this area and adhere to all safety measures that event personnel have established to ensure all participants enjoy the event. Some traffic congestion is likely at the Polo Ridge Postal Station during the event hours.
