CENFLO is a unique celebration of independent cinema with a mission to entertain, educate, and expose Florida residents to the cultural significance of independent film.
In 2005, industry veteran Bob Cook and Brandon Arrington, the Artistic Director of the Osceola Center for the Arts, founded CENFLO as a platform where filmmakers could showcase their work solely on merit. They provided constructive critiques to filmmakers, nurturing emerging talent.
CENFLO’s unique approach quickly gained recognition, attracting filmmakers from around the world. In 2008, it became an international film festival. CENFLO’s success led to a move to the West Orange Cinemas in Ocoee, enhancing the screening experience.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Brendon Rogers since 2018, CENFLO relocated to Mount Dora, positioning itself in the heart of Florida. Partnerships with Lake Sumter State College and community outreach initiatives have expanded its impact.
CENFLO remains a festival “BY filmmakers FOR filmmakers,” offering outstanding films and networking opportunities. Originally from the small town of Berryville, Arkansas, Cindy has become a multimedia specialist in journalism, photography, videography and video editing.
She has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas and is a correspondent for The Daily Commercial, LakeFront TV and Beacon College’s PBS talk show, “A World of Difference,” where she received an Anthem Award and Telly Award.
When she isn’t working, Cindy spends time with her husband, Ryan, and son, David, traveling and taking photos of landscapes and wildlife.
