The purpose of the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program is to select local girls to represent their hometown as role models and to promote pride in the community by active involvement.
The Miss Leesburg Pageant was organized in 1986 and became the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program in 1997. Since then, they have awarded $174,000 to young ladies of Leesburg. All funds for the scholarships are raised through donations and fundraisers. The main fundraiser for the year is the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Scramble golf tournament.
Scholarships are given to help further the education of local students and paid to the college of their choice. The Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program is committed to stressing the importance of education. Their goal is to increase the scholarship amounts each year!
The nonprofit educational youth program has proven to be a great success – thanks to the community support they receive. The overall goal is to provide scholarships each year to graduating students. The scholarship committee works throughout the year to raise funds for this purpose.
