Community Expo at FHW is a Big Hit!

There were more than 400 people who attended the Florida Hospital Waterman Mommy & More Expo recently. The event was held in honor of World Breastfeeding Week and was free to the public.

The expectant and potential parents attending the event met physicians, prenatal education experts, and lactation specialists. They also received a tour of the hospital’s Labor & Delivery Department. In addition, there were virtual reality tours of the future Center for Women & Children’s expansion and the pediatric section of the new Emergency Department, which is opening in Spring 2019.

“We enjoyed welcoming expectant mothers and their families to Florida Hospital Waterman to showcase all of the wonderful educational opportunities and resources available, as well as giving a sneak peek of our expansion which opens this Spring,” said Michael Stimson, RN, vice president/chief nursing officer, Florida Hospital Waterman.  “We look forward to providing high-quality care for these expectant moms and their families.”

Along with hors-d’oeuvres and snacks for children, there was a Kids Corner activity center along with prizes, vendors, and a car-seat check provided by the city of Tavares’s and Leesburg’s Fire Departments.
