
For the third year, the city of Clermont hosted the Great Campout at beautiful Waterfront Park. The event once again sold out with nearly 40 of the 60 families participating returning participants from past years. The event was held from 11am on Saturday until 11am Sunday on the edge of Lake Minnola.

“This popular event is a wonderful way for families to enjoy Clermont’s great outdoors overnight in a safe environment,” City Manager Darren Gray says. “There was something for all ages and friendships have formed through the years.”

The weekend of family fun included a bonfire with s’mores and campfire songs, movies under the stars, backyard games, and camping bingo and trivia. There were also people playing neon soccer and kayaking. Darren even served as a judge for the “Best Tent Poster” contest.
