Clermont has added some boom to its annual Red, White & Boom event.
The city’s Fourth of July celebration is scheduled from 6-10pm July 4 at Waterfront Park, 330 3rd St. The free, family event will be bigger than ever and packed with fun for everyone. Local singer Kayslin Victoria, a top 24 performer on Season 16 of “The Voice” TV show, will lead off the festivities with the national anthem at the Highlander Pavilion. A fireworks show at 9:15pm over Lake Minneola will top off the evening.
“We’re excited for one of our biggest events of the year,” City Manager Darren Gray says in a news release. “Come on out and enjoy this family-friendly, patriotic celebration.”
Popular attractions will include a pie-eating contest, stilt walkers, old-fashioned games, a kids’ zone with wet slides and bounce houses, a Most Patriotic Costume Contest, and a Patriotic Pet Parade, along with plenty of food and drink options to enjoy. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Switch, a cover band performing “totally radical” 1980s music, the release states.
Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to watch the fireworks. Off-site parking will be available at Clermont Middle School and Cypress Ridge Elementary School, at 301 and 350 East Ave., respectively. Free shuttles will transport guests to and from Waterfront Park.
