Kids soon will have a chance to jump around with their local heroes.

The Clermont Police Department will host the fifth annual Lights and Ladders community event from 5-9pm Friday, Feb. 1, at Sky Zone indoor trampoline park, 2510 S. U.S. Highway 27. The Clermont Fire Department also is supporting this event, a news release states.

This gathering is appropriate for all ages, and admission is free. The public is encouraged to bring a $1 donation to support the Wounded Officers Initiative and/or a nonperishable food item for the food pantry at the Family Christian Center in Clermont. Net proceeds also will support the Wounded Officers Initiative.

Sky Zone will host 30-minute free jump sessions throughout the night for children ages 5-15.

“That includes regular jumping and dodgeball, and, of course, the kids get to jump and play dodgeball with the police officers during this time,” Sky Zone general manager Corey Russell says in the release. “With our new renovations, children will get to participate in a Ninja Warrior Course, a Foam Pit, and Rock Wall.”

Other free activities include interaction with members of the Clermont Police and Fire departments at static vehicle displays, bounce houses, obstacle courses, games, slides, and more. Free food samples from a variety of local restaurants will be available from 6-8 p.m.
