Clermont Night Out is Tonight!

Tonight, from 5-9pm, the Clermont Police Department will host its 2018 National Night Out celebration at Waterfront Park.

A free family event, it is designed to educate on anti-crime programs while creating strong bonds among family, the community, and local law enforcement.

New this year, the Clermont Police Department will partner with Lowe’s of Clermont to host the first JR. SWAT Course Challenge. The child-sized obstacle course will include a tug-of-war with a police officer and meeting the SWAT team.

“Kids always look forward to meeting the SWAT officers at our events and ask what they need to do to become a SWAT officer,” said Lt. Brent Joyner, commander of the Clermont Police Department SWAT Team. “This year, they can actually participate in a JR. SWAT challenge to get an idea of what that may be like.”

Highlights include free food from local Clermont restaurants and a family fun zone with activities for the entire family.
