Calling camera buffs to capture attractions, images of Clermont

Get your cameras ready to beat the heat and have some end-of-summer fun capturing Clermont’s charm.

This unique free event is the perfect way to get moving and explore the amazing attractions that Clermont has to offer all while following Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“The City of Clermont is excited to introduce a new way for residents and visitors to experience the city,” Parks and Recreation Director Scott Davidoff says in a news release. “This is the perfect opportunity for amateur photographers of all ages to be creative and show others how they see the Choice of Champions through a camera lens.”

Snap your photos at picturesque Clermont staples like Citrus Tower, Waterfront Park and Lake Hiawatha Preserve. Dress up in your best red carpet attire to take a photo at the entrance of Clermont Performing Arts Center, and make your own poster to display at Victory Pointe. Plus, compete for a prize in three categories: most creative, most fun and most City of Clermont themed.

The Champions Summer Photo Challenge is open to all ages. Participants must submit an entry form to be eligible for photo submissions. Application forms must be filled out and submitted on or before 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 to clermontphotochallenge@gmail.com or mailed to the Clermont City Center, 620 W. Montrose St.

The challenge begins Aug. 14 and submissions must be received no later than 3 p.m. Aug. 21. All photos must be family friendly and taken within the City of Clermont. Photos received without a signed Affidavit of Eligibility & Liability and Publicity release will be disqualified. All photos must be in JPG format and may be a maximum of 8 mega pixels (3264 x 2448) in size. There is a maximum of 10 pictures, which must be emailed five at a time (two emails) submitted to clermontphotochallenge@gmail.com.
