Brittany Rudolph Montgomery | 33

Occupation: Teaches 8th grade English Language Arts at Carver Middle School.

Family: Husband, Roderick Montgomery II, and children, Roderick “Trey” III, 2, Christian, 11, and Jace, 13.

Education: Attended Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama.

A leader I admire: Michelle Obama. I admire her grace, class, and compassion for people. I also admire her education and career accomplishments. I hold her quote, ‘When they go low, go high’ near and dear to heart. It keeps me humble and reminds me to treat people kindly regardless of how they treat me.

Greatest career accomplishment: I recently received my master’s degree in education specializing in curriculum and instruction. This degree was special to me because I completed the program as a wife, mother, teacher, and evangelist. I learned the art of time management and balance.

Hidden talents: I have a small business, Classic R and B Designs, LLC. I create t-shirts and tumblers.

Guilty pleasure: Binge watching crime shows for days at a time.

If I had $5 million: I would give a portion to my church, build a community center for at-risk youth, create programs to serve families in the community, invest a portion in real estate, and save the rest.

Describe yourself: Determined, resilient, hard-working, and compassionate.

Philosophy of life: “If one shows grace, love, and compassion to all mankind, change can happen.”
