The 23rd annual Mount Dora Plant & Garden Fair is scheduled for 9am Saturday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 12, at Donnelly Park, 5th Avenue and Donnelly Street, Mount Dora.
Billed as “Mount Dora’s most beloved event,” the fair is in its 23rd year. Admission is free, but proceeds from the sales will benefit local horticultural projects.
Specialty growers and exhibitors are expected to bring every type of plant and flower from fairy gardens in a tea cup to 2-ton palms. The varieties will include: tropical plants like African violets, Anthurium, begonias, bougainvillea, bromeliads, Brugmansia (angel’s trumpet), ferns, gingers, orchids, Plumerias (Frangipani), Tillandsia, tropical fruit trees, and water lilies; landscape and nontropical plants such as antique roses, bonsai, camellias, day lilies, organic herbs, native plants, Nelson’s roses, olive trees, palms, paw-paws, succulents, tea olives, and woody ornamentals; and garden-related items like organic cotton gloves and clothing, worm culture fertilizer, gardening books, hand-painted pots, mosaics, Mexican imports, English garden accents, French Provencal table linens, hot sauces, and raw honey.
