If you’ve ever wanted to try rattlesnake, zebra, or kangaroo, now’s your chance! On Thursday, October 24th from 5:30-7:30 the Historic Mote Morris House is hosting BeastFeast! The annual event is an all you can eat feast featuring a variety of exotic meats, along with smoked turkey, pulled pork, fresh oysters and comfort food. BeastFeast is presented by the Professional Firefighters of Leesburg Local 2957 benefitting the Leesburg Center for the Arts.
The menu varies each year depending on availability of certain meats; crowd favorites tend to be fried frog legs and venison prepared by the Professional Firefighters of Leesburg Local 2957! Get excited to try items made by local Pitmasters Bert Bolieck, Jean Paul Galbreath and Greg Thorpe, served by sponsors Lake Glass & Mirror, A-Line Fire and Safety, Dental Touch Center State Bank, Robert Bone Law Firm, United Southern Bank, Edward Jones-Michael Johnson, Gourmet Today, and LRMC. Don’t forget to stop by the campfire for some s’mores provided by Miss Leesburg.
Some featured items include wild hog prepared by Pitmaster Bert Boliek, smoked gator prepared by Pitmasters Jean Paul Galbreath and Greg Thorpe, rattlesnake jumbo by Sous Chef Max from Brick and Barrel House, and bacon gouda zebra sliders and kangaroo shepards pie by Gourmet Today. Along with their fried venison and fried frogs legs, the Professional Firefighters of Leesburg Local 2957 will also be providing curry goat, oxtails, bison kabobs, quail and wild turkey.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Children under 5 eat free and tickets for those 12 and under are $13.00. Tickets can be purchased at the Leesburg Center for the Arts, United Southern Bank in Downtown Leesburg, Two Old Hags Wine Shoppe and on-line at www.leesburgarts.com/beastfeast/ prior to the event.
