More than 1,000 people are expected to get a little taste of South Lake and conduct some business networking during a popular event this week in Clermont.
Spend an evening under the stars at the ninth annual Taste of South Lake & Business Expo from 5-8:30pm Thursday, Nov. 7, at Clermont’s Waterfront Park, 100 3rd St. With an emphasis on local food and drink, Taste of South Lake provides an opportunity for guests to truly get a taste of what South Lake has to offer.
“This event is an affordable way for the community to taste specialty entrées, drinks, appetizers and desserts from the best restaurants in South Lake,” South Lake Chamber of Commerce President & CEO David Colby says in a news release. “We invite everyone to discover new and established restaurants while meeting some of the most innovative business leaders from our area.”
In addition to the more than 60 restaurants and vendors showcasing samples of signature dishes and drinks, several non-restaurant businesses will highlight their products and services.
The evening also includes a friendly “best of” competition where restaurants compete to win the best appetizer, entrée, dessert and drink, while all booths compete for the best decorated booth. Visitors also can make their voices heard by voting for their favorite dish of the evening in the “People’s Choice” category. Root & Branch was the 2018 People’s Choice winner.
Guests also can sit back, relax and enjoy the music of local favorite Rob Nichols, a country musician with South Lake roots. He has played many of the venues on Music Row as well as hundreds of honky tonks and music fests throughout the Southeast.
Tickets can be purchased at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce office, 620 W. Montrose St., Clermont, during normal business hours, 8:30am-5pm weekdays at Seacoast National Bank, 1000 E. Highway 50, Clermont, or through tasteofsouthlake.com. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include all food and beverage tastings.
