Though “All Shook Up” is filled with the unmistakeable music of Elvis Presley, it’s inspired by Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”
The play by Shakespeare was written in 1602; however, its theme easily fits today’s issues and situation. With its deception and disguise, the play easily becomes a modern tale.
The story is set in a small Midwestern town that goes into a frenzy with the announcement that Chad is arriving soon! The handsome, motorcycle-riding roustabout travels from town to town with his guitar on his back, wearing blue suede shoes, and a song in his heart.
Held under the thumb of their conservative mayor, the town breathes new life under Chad’s influence. People follow their dreams, love comes alive in many ways, and the suppressed town is changed forever.
“All Shook Up” runs July 12-August 4, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for students; and $10 for children. Get further information at www.moonlightplayers.com.
