The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation recently honored Akers Media for its continued generosity throughout the years. Doug Akers, president of Akers Media, was on hand to accept the award.
“We’re a community-oriented business. Since many of our employees grew up here and most of them live in Lake or Sumter County, it’s just natural for us to give back to the people and businesses who do so much for us,” Doug says. “We’re humbled to receive this honor and appreciate the value of the recognition.”
Akers Media is also proud to be a Royal Palm Society patron, which is synonymous with generosity, outstanding achievement, and fellowship with other patrons.
The TVRH Auxiliary Foundation was set up to support the mission, programs, and services of The Villages Regional Hospital, an affliliate of Central Florida Health. The not-for-profit group works diligently to raise funds to support the hospital’s endeavors and improve patient care. Founded in 2013, the foundation now has more than 800 members.
