Studio Theatre at Tierra Del Sol in The Villages, 806 San Marino Drive, features outstanding performers, shows, and musicals that are worth seeing, even productions that are a short run.
Theatergoers were treated to a stellar performance by the talented Whitney Morse, Chantelle Cognevich, Nick Shoda, and David Paul Rowan, in the thought-provoking musical “Now. Here. This.,” which ran May 16-25.
Set in a natural history museum, the musical reflected on our natural history, both prehistoric and recent, while looking at some of life’s big questions through the eyes and evolution of four friends as they shared their stories of friendship, laughing, middle school, parents, aging, etc., all which led into an attempt to savor more life in the elusiveness of here and now.
The musical’s ending was a sweet invitation to the audience to step out of the museum and directly into the present moment to enjoy new experiences and adventures.
Studio Theatre will be showcasing summer shows, including “6 Guitars,” “Always…Patsy Cline,” “Fully Committed,” “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” “The Decline and Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter,” and “Sylvia.”
The fourth season begins September with “John & Jen” opening Sept. 27 to Oct. 27; “Neighbors: A Fair-Trade Agreement,” Nov. 22 to Dec. 22; and 2020 shows of “Assassins,” Jan. 24, to March 1; “Other Desert Cities,” March 27 to May 3.
