After fire, Melody needs a home

In order to boost adoption efforts at the Lake County Animal Shelter, Elisha Pappacoda, public information officer for Lake County, is highlighting pooches in need of a home.

Melody, an 8-month-old pup, came to the shelter with 18 of her pals after a July 2 house fire.

“This sweet girl is an old soul who just wants to be loved and feel secure after her ordeal,” says Elisha in a press release. Melody was scared when she arrived, but Elisha says the dog touched employees hearts by appearing trusting and lovey.

Melody and other dogs in need of a home may be seen at Lake County Animal Shelter, 28123 County Road 561, Tavares. To adopt, volunteer, or learn more about the shelter, call 352-343-9688, or visit  online at www.lakecountyfl.gov/LCAS, www.facebook.com/LakeCountyAnimalShelter or www.twitter.com/lakeshelterpets.

Dog adoptions are $10. All pets adopted from the Lake County Animal Shelter are fully vetted, sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped.
