A new music series performed before the beautiful backdrop of the Howey Mansion is generating buzz in Lake County.
“A Season for Strings” chamber music concert by the Rimmamici String Quartet is scheduled for 7pm Dec. 5 at the Howey Mansion Great Hall, 1001 Citrus Ave., Howey-in-the-Hills. The mansion will be decorated for the holidays.
This is the second of four performances in the 2019-2020 Howey Mansion Music Series, which is a nonprofit organization supported by grants and donations. The series’ first concert, Jazz on the Lawn featuring Suzy Park in October, was very successful, says Diana Smith, a board member of the organization.
The string quartet includes Rimma Bergeron-Langlois on first violin, Alex Stevens on second violin, Mauricio Cespedes at viola and Grace Bahng Gavin at cello. Arisa Kusumi will sing “O Holy Night” in a special cameo appearance, according to a press announcement.
Tickets cost $36 and must be purchased in advance. The Howey Mansion Music Series also is offering a special three-concert bundle at the discounted price of $80 (valued at $88) plus booking fee until Dec. 4. The other two shows in the series are “Bold New Directions” Jazz on the Lawn with Renderglow on March 8, and the “Brilliant Brass” chamber music concert with Sovereign Brass on April 16.
