A Doll’s House at The Studio

“A Doll’s House” by Henrik Ibsen (translated by Christopher Hampton) was written in 1879, that 140 years ago, and it’s still being performed in the 21st century. This production, at The Studio Theatre in The Villages, will star Whitney Morse and Alex Jorth as the married couple, Nora and Torvald Helmer.

The story centers around the couple’s fragile marriage begins crumbling with the stroke of a pen. As Christmas approaches, finances are tight, and Nora and Torvald discover a dark secret could destroy their marriage.

Whitney has a number of productions under her belt including “Next to Normal,” “The Last Five Years,” and “Proof.” She won a Broadway World Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Claire in “Proof” in 2017. She also performed a one-woman run of 14 sold-out performances for “Tell Me on a Sunday.” Adding to her performances, she kicked off the Lobby Lounge Cabaret Series at The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center in “My Knocked-up Life,” which was also sold out.

Alex is originally from Davenport, Iowa, and live in Boynton Beach. He has already appeared at The Studio Theatre in “The Story of My Life” and “Life Could Be a Dream.” A millikin University graduate, he is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association.
